How to get the confidence to book a boudoir session

Hey, gorgeous! Yeah, I'm talking to you!

So, boudoir has always tickled your fancy but you've been thinking, "That's just not me, I don't have that kind of confidence." Well, babe, hold onto your hat because I'm about to drop some truth bombs. You can absolutely BE that woman, that man, that absolute star! All it takes is a dash of self-belief, a sprinkle of self-worth, and a whole lot of strutting your amazing self!

I know, I know, it sounds way easier said than done, right? You're probably tired of hearing the same old, same old. But, darling, I'm going to keep saying it until you truly believe it -- You. Are. Worth. It! You're stunning, one of a kind, and capable of SO MUCH MORE than you give yourself credit for.

The world is sitting on the edge of its seat, eagerly waiting for you to show off your magnificent self! And this blog, my dear friend, is here to help you believe that you're just as AMAZING, GORGEOUS, and FABULOUS as you truly are! Your beauty deserves to be captured and cherished forever.

So, let's get you started on your journey to becoming a boudoir royalty with some confidence-building tips.

1. Never forget that you are not alone!

The beautiful souls featured on this website have all struggled with one thing when they first came to me -- showing up for their session! This stuff can be intimidating. It's like wanting to crawl under your bed until you feel all warm and fuzzy again.

But here's the thing, hiding never makes anyone feel better. Each and every person that I have ever had the honor of photographing has felt that way at some point. But guess what? They all showed up and they totally ROCKED IT!

2. Always remember that YOU are in control.

You get to decide how you feel and how you want to be seen. No one can ever take that away from you. And when it comes to your boudoir session, you have the power to decide how you want to be photographed.

Feeling a bit jittery? That's totally okay! You can take things at your own pace and go as fast or slow as you want. I will never push you to do anything that you're not comfortable with. Your wellbeing is my top priority.

When you're thinking about booking a session, always remember, you're the boss here. And let me tell you something, you're going to look absolutely STUNNING!

3. A little bit of self-care will take you a LONG way!

When you take care of yourself, you'll have more energy to focus on things like building confidence. Trust me, a little self-care can make a world of difference!

So, schedule some 'me time', do the things that make you feel good. Perhaps a massage, a yoga class, or just a long, relaxing bath. Make sure you're getting enough sleep, drinking loads of water, and eating healthy, nourishing foods.

4. Find your cheerleader!

Your bestie, your sibling, your partner, or a family member who will constantly remind you of how utterly amazing you are. Talking to someone who understands the fear and intimidation that comes along with booking a session can be incredibly comforting.

Having someone who will also remind you that you are beautiful and worth every single penny to book a session is so important for building confidence. Someone who will tell you that you are beautiful no matter what. Someone you can lean on when you're feeling a bit low about booking your session.

Going at your own pace and having someone who understands and supports your decision is crucial for a successful session. This is important as they will also be cheering for you when you walk into the session room, reminding you that you're beautiful just the way you are.

P.S. You can even do a couple’s session with your SO and make it an awesome memory for the both of you ;)

5. Avoid comparing yourself to others!

You are uniquely beautiful and that's something to be celebrated! It might be difficult to practice this, as we're often conditioned to compare ourselves to others, but it's SO important for your confidence.

Comparing yourself to others only sets you up for disappointment. You're telling yourself that you're not good enough and that you need to do more to be like them. This can be a toxic habit that chips away at your confidence.

Instead, focus on what makes you different, what makes you unique, what makes you, YOU. When you appreciate your own uniqueness, it'll be easier to love your own amazing features. And once you get to that mental space even just by a tiny percent, it will be easier to find the confidence to book a boudoir session.

Again, just in case you need the reminder, I am your personal hype squad telling you that you are uniquely beautiful and someone to be celebrated! I’m so excited for you to embark on this incredible journey and I anticipate the time when I can show you the incredible beauty that I see in you.
